Examining the nuanced experience of returning to one’s hometown through the perceptual framework of a tourist. Once a site of intimate familiarity, the hometown becomes reframed. Its ordinary landscapes and routines are now imbued with a sense of distance, novelty, and quiet estrangement.

The project dealt with the themes of displacement, memory, and temporal distance. Everything is rendered anew, observed not as inherited elements of daily life, but as cultural artefacts encountered through an outsider’s gaze. This shift in perspective reflects the fluidity of belonging, shaped by migration, time, and personal transformation.
